Mini Split Air Conditioning Units – Compressor.
Think of the compressor as a kind of "heart" of the system that pumps refrigerant through all the refrigeration components in a large loop. The refrigerant enters the compressor as a low-pressure superheated steam and out of there like a high pressure hot steam. The ability of an Inverter Air Conditioner to control the speed of the compressor motor, eliminates stop-start cycles.
From the compressor, the hot refrigerant vapor passes through the condenser. Here, the hot refrigerant vapor at high pressure is cooled by the air that is blown onto the finned condensing coils by the condenser fan, as it travels through the coil with fins. The compressor, condenser coil and condenser fan are located in the large noisy box that is in the backyard, often called condensation unit.
The expansion valve is what really does the job. As the hot coolant passed through a small opening under high pressure into the valve on one side exits as a low pressure cold mist on the other hand because as a gas expands, it cools. So now we have a cool mist at low pressure fluid passing the evaporator coil.
How to Install Split Air Conditioner System. Evaporator Coil.
The low pressure cold fluid exits val expansion valve now passes through the evaporator coil located in the mixing chamber of the furnace. Here the hot air out of your house through the evaporator coil, heating it, while the cold coil cools the air blowing through it and returns home.
