Internal coatings that wear black particles produced that are flying through the vents and accumulate in the walls or floor. If an air conditioner is not clean and was kept somewhere in the garage for months or years, it is likely that much dirt and dust has gotten into the unit. If a black powder when it is active, turn off the power, open the panels that lead to the different components and clean the inside using compressed air or a gentle cleanser and a cloth.

A very old unit may have an old filter or disintegrated. When the fan starts spinning after you turn on the unit for the first time in several years, parts of the rotten air filter out through the vents. This not only room mess but many impurities fly freely through air conditioning components, obstructing components and causing the unit must be repaired. The front grille of the unit is manually opened to reveal the filter. If it is obvious that this is very old or dirty, replace it with a new or clean it.

The internal fan can blow harmful mold parts into the room when turned on. The front panels of the unit can be removed to see the motor and fan. This is a good time to look inside and see if there is waste that may also be causing the black powder. Removes dirt and mold clean around the fan motor parts. If necessary, you can remove it to clean it better and then reinstall it.
