Place your product flat on the ground, with the side you need to make to you. For example, if you have a product that is 12 inches (30.48 cm) by 10 inches (25.4 cm) and you need to compensate or realign the side that measures 10 inches (25.4 cm), place the side that measures 10 inches (25.4 cm) up. Place the hard surface on top of the pipeline.

Aligns the rigid surface with two opposite corners of the duct. The hard surface will be supported along the diagonal side of the duct. Draw a line through the duct side supporting the permanent marker on the side of the rigid surface aligned with the two corners of the duct and drag the marker along the rigid surface. Sets the end of the tape measure in one of the corners that are connected to the marker line. Pull the tape measure along the duct and mark with permanent marker to the length you need to compensate.

Cut along the traced lines with the marker with cutting snips left handed and right handed. Start cutting where diagonal lines are the duct corner. Notch each corner of the product to the required depth for duct connection type you are using for your product line.
