How to Install Split Air Conditioner System? Understanding How an Air Conditioner Works.

An air conditioning system can provide the necessary relief from the warmer months from May to September. These units work alongside your heating system to keep the family home at the ideal temperature. Understanding how an air conditioner works is the first step to invest in one. The following shows a quick descripttion the basic parts of an air conditioner.

How to Install Mini Split AC? The Compressor.

The compressor is the engine of an air conditioning. It works in conjunction with chemicals (the working fluid), which easily changes from a gas to a liquid. The work of the compressor is to compress low pressure refrigerant gas into a high pressure high temperature. Squeezing the refrigerant gas, the compressor reduces the space between molecules, energizing gas. This product then exits the compressor and enters the condenser.

Install Mini Split – The Condenser.

In the condenser, the high pressure gas is cooled by a fan and turns back to a liquid. This working fluid is then fed into the next component, the evaporator. Both the compressor and condenser are located on the outer side of housing.

Mini Split Air Conditioner – The Evaporator.

This component is located inside the residence. Usually, but not always located in the vicinity of the furnace. The piping between the evaporator and the condenser is very thin. Once the liquid reaches the evaporator section, once the high pressure gas is now a low pressure liquid. As the pressure drops, the liquid returns to a gaseous state. During this process, the working fluid removes heat from the air, cooling it. From the evaporator, the working fluid exits as gas to be re-pressurized by the compressor. This cyclical movement is identical to the process that occurs in the refrigerator.
