Lowers heating capacity from 5F down to -4F
Assists in preventing drain pan from freezing
Field installed for existing Daikin condenser(s)
The Daikin drain pan heating element is available for colder climates with prolonged heating below the designed temperature of 5F and/or in areas where icing conditions exist or are likely (typically between 17-34 F).
Install the outdoor unit 2” above the average annual snow line to allow the water to drain properly (height to be determined by licensed HVAC contractor).
The heaters do not add capacity, but are intended to maintain the rated capacity by keeping the pan free from ice during possible icing.
